Natural Hair Care With Lemon

The folk lore of lemon dates back thousands of years. It has been widely used for skin and hair care. The acidic contents of lemon make it an excellent cleanser for oily skin as well as a natural hair lightener for blonde hairs.
  • Lemon juice contains alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) that help to exfoliate dead cells from skin thus giving it a rejuvenated fresh look.
  • Its acidic element is a natural cure for a number of body ailments.
  • It has a natural bleaching components that help to improve complexion.
  • Lemon rind is rich in essential oil called lemon essential oil. This oil is known to rejuvenate and restore the skin. It is extremely effective as a whitening agent or as a clarifier and astringent in skincare products.

There are multiple ways to incorporate lemon into your routine hair care.

Take about half cup of fresh lemon juice and mix well in about one quart of water. Use as a final rinse after routine shampooing. Prom Hair Styles

One of the most important prom preparations a woman has to make is to choose the perfect prom hair style to complete the prom look. It is even said that the prom hairstyle stands out the most in the prom attire!

Though going to the prom may be one of the best events in your lifetime, it can also punch a nice fat hole in your pocket! You have to spend for the perfect dress, matching shoes, flowers, accessories, prom hair style and matching hair jewels. It is always better to book an appointment with your hairstylist, but if your budget is not actually up to it, you could consider these money saving ideas. Use a simple but sensuous hair style like a glamorous ponytail or half up/half down style that can be done at home. If you do plan to do your own prom hair style, make sure you have all the needed tools for it like blow dryer, irons, hot curlers and pony bungees available and in working order. Avoid using hair colors or chemicals as you may only end up in a hair color correction chair with a big price tag! However, if you plan to do a more complicated up-do or twisted style, it would be better to partner with a prom going buddy and agree to do each other’s hair on prom night. If you plan to do this, practice your hair style weeks before prom until you get the right look and style.

If you plan to wear accessories in your prom hair style, shop wisely. It’s better to go in for hair accessories like barrettes and hair combs that can be worn long after prom is over. You could share hair accessories expenses with your prom buddy to cut down on expenses. You could even be creative and use an existing favorite necklace or brooch to act as a temporary hair accessory for the great evening! You could also experiment with old earrings, cufflinks and other jeweled pieces that you might not usually try in your hair! The trick of the game is just to be as creative and imaginative as possible to have a spectacular prom hairstyle that will save your piggybank. Remember, the sky is the limit!

Beauty Solutions - Expert Hair Care Advice

The best hair care advice I can give is for any hair style you select, you should have your hair cut specifically for that style. It is possible to have a convertible hairdo, one which can be worn in two or more ways, but I do not recommend it. When the hair is cut to conform to a certain shape, it's illogical to expect it to look right in other shapes as well.

The reason for cutting hair in the first place is to shape it. It's like cutting material for carpentry, sewing or any other form of handicraft: you cut your material to measure. When cutting lumber to make a piece of furniture, you cut each plank to the precise length needed for the construction of that piece.

You can see how ridiculous it would be if, in building an automobile or a boat or any other object, the worker failed to cut each part to the exact size and shape required and instead left the excess material trailing off the back or sides. Shaping hair can be regarded in the same terms.

It is even more important, in fact, to have hair the right length for each individual change of line. An error in cutting fabric, for example, might not be so serious because it might be able to support itself or be given support. Hair, however, is a substance that must hold its own shape, and must be cut in a way that will enable it to do so.

I believe, therefore, that in all cases-outside of some very slight changes-hair will always look best and fall best when it is set or combed in the way for which it was cut.

A Year Without A Haircut
Here is some hair care advice you may never have heard before. It is perfectly possible for you to go for a whole year without a haircut, by adopting a style that changes as it grows, but always in a pretty and becoming manner. The style is one that achieves its beauty through simplicity of line and clean, shining hair and the knowledge that hair grows half an inch a month. An example of a suitable style would be a short straight pageboy with a very short bang. The bang may be actually cut right to the hairline or about a quarter of an inch below.

Six weeks later the hair will have grown three-quarters of an inch. The bang can be cultivated into a longer straight bang and the ends into a slightly longer pageboy. Three months after the original haircut the hair will have grown an inch and a half. Now is the opportunity to turn a fairly straight hairdo into a fairly curly one if you wish. The bang, which is now an inch and three-quarters, can be turned into a wavy bang. The ends can retain the pageboy contour or can be fluffed.

At the six-month mark the hair will have grown three inches all over the head. The wavy bang now moves to the side. The bottom hair can continue as a pageboy or with fluffy ends.

Between this point and the end of the year, the hair can be worn long and loose at the sides or it can be pulled back into a chignon, a pony tail or a cluster of curls. The former bang is brushed back to join the sides. By the end of your year without a haircut you have an entirely different hairdo from the one with which you started, and will have enjoyed the interest, the variety and the economy of letting it grow according to plan.

So my considered hair care advice to you is style your hair in the way for which it was cut, and also, just for an experiment, enjoy a year without visiting your hairdresser.

Solia Hair Styling Flat Iron Tips

Solia makes very good flat irons and it uses Tourmaline on all its ceramic plates. However just because you've bought a Solia flat iron isn't going to guarantee that your hair is going to look like you just stepped out of a salon. You also have to know how to use it.

Tourmaline is a precious stone and generates up to 6 times more negative ions than traditional ceramic. This greatly reduces the potential for heat damage to the hair and results in smoother, silkier hair that is less likely to frizz or curl back up. All good flat iron manufacturers now coat the ceramic plates on their flat irons with Tourmaline.

The company also uses a unique "dynamic alignment system" on the plates of its flat irons. This allows the ceramic/tourmaline plates to self-adjust as necessary in order to maintain even contact with the hair. This is important; evening out the pressure prevents the iron from focusing on any specific "hot spots" which could damage your hair.

How To Use Your Solia Flat Iron
Once you've purchased your Solia hair styling flat iron you ready to give yourself beautiful hair. Don't be nervous about using it; using it is simplicity itself. Here's a step by step guide.

1. Select the correct size of Solia hair straightener based on your type and length of hair. What is meant by size is the width of the ceramic plates of the flat iron. Most women will be fine with one that has plate sizes between 1.5" and 1".

2. When you first unpack your Solia Tourmaline flat iron don't plug it in straight away. Instead, just try using it without it being switched on. Get used to how it feels and try using it on your hair.

3. Before you use your hair straightener ensure that your hair is completely dry; use a blow-dryer.

4. When using your Solia flat iron you should always use a styling product to stop your hair from 'frizzing'. Apply serum or gel when drying your hair. Serums are silicon based. If you use a gel place a little into the palm of your hand and apply it evenly throughout your hair.

5. It sounds obvious but make sure your hair straightener is switched on and has reached its temperature setting. Also, determine what temperature is appropriate for your hair type. Normal hair can withstand a range of 300-370°F. Bleached, fragile, damaged and fine hair should use less than 300°F. Very thick, coarse, ethnic or resistant hair can stand more than 370°F, but be sure to use this selection very carefully.

6. Use barrettes and/or hair clips to pull away hair you're not working on. Take a small section of your hair to start with. Don't be tempted to use thicker sections; by working with small sections and slices, you can apply the heat evenly, and will get the desired straightness faster.

7. Begin straightening by taking a small chunk of hair and, starting at the root of the hair, work your way down slowly but steadily. Once you've finished a section, comb through it and spray with hairspray, if desired.

8. Straightening the back hairs can be difficult. Until you get the hang of it, try placing two mirrors on the diagonal so you can see the back of your head. Then, do as in step 7, starting at the bottom of your head (the nape/neck area) and working your way to the crown of your head, just like your stylist does.

It takes time and practice to perfect most things. The good news is that it shouldn't take long at all to get that perfect, sleek, shiny finish using your Solia flat iron.
